Core Responsibilities & Daily Tasks
As a Gardener and Landscaper, your work will be varied and season-dependent. You will be responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of gardens, parks, and commercial landscapes. The following list details the primary duties, but a proactive attitude and willingness to tackle varied tasks is key.
1Soft Landscaping & Planting
- ✓Bed preparation, planting of shrubs, trees, perennials, and seasonal bedding plants.

- ✓Weeding, mulching, and general border maintenance.
2Hard Landscaping & Construction
- ✓Assisting with the construction of patios, paths, and decking areas.
- ✓Building and installing fencing, pergolas, and raised beds.
- ✓Laying turf and installing irrigation systems.
- ✓General maintenance of hard landscape features.
3Seasonal & Maintenance Work
- ✓Leaf clearance in autumn.
- ✓Winter preparation of beds and protection of tender plants.
- ✓Clearing drains and gutters on garden structures.
- ✓Basic maintenance of garden tools and equipment.
4Health, Safety & Client Relations
- ✓Adhering to all site-specific health and safety regulations (COSHH, risk assessments).

- ✓Professional and courteous communication with clients and site managers.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Gardener, Landscaper, or Groundsperson.
You must have at least 1-2 years of professional experience, with verifiable references. A solid understanding of horticultural practices and plant identification is essential.
Full UK Driving Licence (preferably with own transport).
The role involves travel between sites in the Leeds LS12 area and beyond. Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable.
PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates and/or Chainsaw Certifications (CS30/31).
