Job Description & Overview
HireNow is actively recruiting passionate and qualified Nursery Nurses and Early Years Practitioners for immediate placements within outstanding Ofsted-rated nurseries, preschools, and early years foundation stage (EYFS) settings across the Doncaster DN1 postcode and surrounding South Yorkshire region. Our clients range from small, intimate private day nurseries to larger chain providers, all committed to delivering exceptional care and early education.
This is more than just a staffing role; it's an opportunity to join a supportive network of early years professionals. When you register with HireNow, you gain access to a dedicated consultant who understands the local early years landscape in Doncaster. We simplify your job search, handling the vetting and paperwork, so you can focus on what you do best: nurturing and inspiring young children.
The demand for skilled Nursery Practitioners in Doncaster is consistently high. With new settings opening and existing ones expanding, our agency is the bridge between talented professionals and nurseries in need of reliable, enthusiastic staff. We pride ourselves on a human-centric approach to recruitment, valuing the unique skills each practitioner brings, much like we do when placing specialized trades such as a Bricklayer or a Carpenter / Joiner on construction projects. The right person in the right environment makes all the difference.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
As a Nursery Nurse or Practitioner placed through HireNow in Doncaster, your core responsibilities will be centered around providing safe, stimulating, and nurturing care that aligns with the EYFS framework. Your day-to-day tasks will be diverse and rewarding.
- Child-Centred Care & Learning: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote all areas of learning and development (PSED, CL, PD, L, M, UW, EAD). Observe, assess, and record children's progress accurately using designated systems like Tapestry or learning journals.
- Safeguarding & Welfare: Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety at all times. This includes conducting daily risk assessments, following robust hygiene and medication policies, and being a vigilant key person for assigned children.
- Partnership with Parents: Build strong, professional, and communicative relationships with parents and carers. Provide clear, constructive feedback about their child's day, development, and any concerns, acting as a trusted liaison between home and nursery.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a nursery team, supporting colleagues, sharing best practice, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and reflective working environment. Participate in staff meetings and training as required.
- Environment & Resources: Take responsibility for the care, preparation, and maintenance of the indoor and outdoor learning environments. Ensure resources are clean, safe, accessible, and inviting to stimulate children's curiosity and independence.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to keep knowledge of early years theory, policy (e.g., Development Matters), and practice current. Reflect on your own practice to ensure the highest quality of provision.
