Job Description: Learning Support Assistant

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse learning needs, including those with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, and speech & language difficulties.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and preparing differentiated learning activities and resources, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum effectively.
- Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and behaviour, providing constructive feedback to teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and parents/carers.
- Support pupils' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour, resilience, and inclusion within the school environment.
- Assist with personal care and physical needs where required, adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting pupil welfare at all times.
Essential Requirements & Skills
- Proven Experience: Minimum 6 months experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar child-centred role, ideally within a UK school setting.
- Knowledge & Understanding: A solid understanding of SEN, safeguarding procedures, and the national curriculum. Training in Team-Teach, MAPA, or First Aid is highly advantageous.
- Personal Attributes: Exceptional patience, empathy, and communication skills. The ability to build rapport with children, remain calm under pressure, and work proactively as part of a team.
- Compliance: An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through HireNow. Right to work in the UK.
