Key Responsibilities

• Safely direct and manage the movement of all vehicles, plant machinery (including excavators, dumpers, and cranes), and delivery trucks on and around the Blackpool FY1 site using recognised banksman hand signals.
• Conduct dynamic risk assessments for vehicle manoeuvring areas, identifying and mitigating potential hazards to pedestrians and other site workers.
• Maintain constant communication with plant operators and drivers via two-way radio and clear visual signals to ensure safe reversing and positioning.
• Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorised vehicles and personnel enter designated zones, and manage traffic flow to prevent congestion.
• Complete daily log sheets and report any safety incidents, near misses, or equipment defects to the site supervisor immediately, adhering to all site-specific safety protocols.

What We're Looking For

• Proven, recent experience as a Traffic Marshal, Banksman, or similar role within construction, logistics, or a large-scale warehouse environment. A valid CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) or NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) Banksman card is highly desirable.
• A meticulous understanding of site safety practices, with relevant certifications such as a CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and ideally SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) awareness.
• Exceptional situational awareness, vigilance, and the confidence to take control of vehicle movements. You must be physically fit, able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and stand for prolonged periods.
