Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As the HR Assistant, you will be the backbone of the HR office. Your day-to-day tasks will be diverse, requiring excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. Here’s what you can expect:

  • HR Database & Record Management: Accurately maintain and update employee records on the HR Information System (HRIS). Ensure all personal data, contracts, and right-to-work documents are filed correctly and in compliance with GDPR.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process. This includes posting job adverts, screening CVs, coordinating interview schedules, and communicating with candidates to provide a positive candidate experience.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the seamless integration of new starters, preparing contracts, organising inductions, and setting up system access. Conversely, handle leaver processes efficiently, including exit interviews and retrieval of company property.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration: Support the monthly payroll cycle by collating and checking timesheets, processing changes (starters, leavers, promotions), and administering employee benefits such as pension schemes and private healthcare.
  • First-Line HR Support: Act as the first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, holiday entitlements, and general procedures, escalating more complex issues to HR Advisors or Managers as needed.
  • Reporting & Coordination: Generate standard HR reports on headcount, absence, and turnover. Provide administrative support for HR projects, meetings, and training sessions, including minute-taking and preparing presentations.
